‘Minutes of the Management Board Meeting held 16th December at Radcliffe House
Chairman’s Business: The Chairman reported the Track & Field Committee had spent much time investigating and debating the possibility of an Indoor Competition in February. Sadly, with the realisation that the Association would incur an estimated cost of £22,000 leading to a potential large financial loss on the event, it was reluctantly agreed we simply could not afford to go ahead. It is extremely disappointing for all involved.
It is hoped we could relocate the Office to Alexander Stadium to reduce some costs. We have been waiting for some time for a draft lease with costs from Birmingham City Council.
Cross Country: reported there had been 39 women and 80 men at the 5/7 event.
The Cross Country Championships will be held at Mallory Park.
Women’s Cross Country League. Two divisional races were held at the same venue as the Birmingham League with the other event as a standalone.
Track and Field League: The AGM was held in December.
Race Walking: The 2nd Winter League Meeting was held at Stourport Sports Club on 17th November. The 3rd Winter League Meeting is planned for 12th January at Warwick University Coventry.
Maureen Bullen, Colin Fox and Jan Febery attended Richard Float (Past President and former Hon. Treasurer)’s funeral at St Peter’s in Oadby Leicester.
