It is with a heavy heart to announce the sad news of Midlands coach Everton Caines who passed away on Monday 25th August 2025
Everton started his athletics career on the track, competing for Sparkhill Harriers
where he achieved 3rd place at the Warwickshire Championships in the Men’s U20 200m (220 yds)
He then went onto be the junior Sprint/Hurdles coach at Sparkhill.
In 1991 Everton joined Solihull & Small Heath AC as the ‘older athletes’ Sprint coach.
A credible man who connected so well with his athletes, a man with such a caring & calm nature,
a passion for the sport, a wealth of knowledge and a patient, gentle soul.
An amazing 50+ years of volunteering & 34 years of coaching.
May you Rest in Peace Everton and thank you for your dedicated service to athletics.
Our thoughts are with Everton’s family & so many friends.
