The fourth and final race of the 2021 Inter-Area Road Race Series will be held at Telford on Sunday 12th December 2021 with the event held in conjunction with the popular Telford 10k. After team wins in the Cardiff 5k and the Leeds Abbey Dash the Men’s team will be ringing the changes and the Team Manager, Matt Long, will be looking to select a new team both in the Men’s A team and in a development team. That said all five male athletes will be expected to have run faster than 30:30 for selection for the ‘A’ team and close to, if not below, 31 minutes for the five members of the development team.
As usual Claire Martin will be selecting the two women’s’ teams which are also five to run and four to score. Again, we aim to have a strong Women’s A team with athletes who have clocked a sub:35 minute 10k this season. The Women’s Development Team will concentrate on younger, developing athletes but again 36 minutes or close to that pace will be the standard that Claire will hope to achieve in the Women’s Development Team.
If you are interested in competing for the Midlands in this event then please contact the Men’s Team Manager, Matt Long, at or the Women’s Team Manager, Claire Martin, at
Teams will be announced on Monday 15th November 2021. Don’t forget that you can stake a claim by running well in the Derby 10, which is the Midland Championship, on Sunday 14th November 2021.
To be able to enter you for the event the Team Managers will need your name, club, DOB in dd/mm/yyyy format and England Athletics registration number.
The teams will meet at the Telford International Centre at least one hour prior to the start of their race. As usual travel expenses will be covered by Midland Counties Road-Running but accommodation will only be paid in specific circumstances that must be agreed with the Team Manager beforehand.
