Earlier this month the Midland Counties Athletic Association were pleased to announce that Clova Court had been nominated as Sportswoman of the Year 2021 in the Grass Roots category on the Sunday Times website. Now we can go one better and report that Clova was announced as winner of her category at last night’s awards ceremony. Clova is a former international athlete who competed in track and field for Great Britain. Clova now works in a school but also volunteers as a grassroots sports coach at the Tipton Sports Academy and Tividale Park and has worked with young people in the Midlands for more than 20 years.
Clova came back to her roots after retirement from international Athletics and a short stint as a GB coach and manager and is now using her wealth of experience and knowledge to give something back to young athletes, regardless of the level they are competing at.
Congratulations to Clova on this well-deserved award.
